The women’s team qualified for semi finals by placing 6th in New Englands held at Bowdoin College in Harpswell, ME. Amy Hawkins ’12 and Caroline Hall ’12 placed 4th in A division while Chanel Miller ’14 sailing with crews Danielle Fougere ’12 and Katie Coupland ’11 placed 9th in B division. Saturday was a brutal day on the water with temperatures only climbing into the mid 40’s with rain, wind to 20 knots, and occasional hail. Sunday was much more pleasent and sunny but very little wind allowing only A divison to complete races which eventually had to be thrown out to keep number of races in A and B divisons equal.
Next stop is semi finals and finals in Cascade Locks, OR May 23rd-26th. The women’s format is a two day semi final immediately before a two day final all at the nationals location.
