URI Placed 12th at this years Coed National Championship also held in Cascade Locks, OR May 30th-June 1st. Conditions for the Coed’s were a little windier then for the Women as all the heavies got a chance to sail. Considering the competition 12th was a great result for the Rams. With the new Semi Final format, National’s are truly representative of the top 18 teams in the country. Contributing to the effort in A-Division was Matt Carmody ’11 with Maggie Craig ’13 and Andrew Moakes ’13 as crews. In B-Division was Amy Hawkins ’12 and Jamie Simmons ’12 as skippers and Caroline Hall ’12 and Jeremy Henry ’11 as crews.
Although the Rams suffer some loses of top skippers and crews this year, they return many sailors at National’s including the whole National Champion Woman’s Team. Thanks for following the Ram’s this season and see you in the fall!
